one week for Prague, Budapet, Vienna
A friend and I will be travelling to Prague in early May and are trying to decide how much time we have for travelling to other cities. A few recommendations we have gotten are Prague, Budapest, Vienna, and Dresden. We are both Jewish and will likely also like to visit a concentration camp (perhaps Terezin outside of Prague). Since we only have a week, we're not quite sure how many cities we can reasonably get to and logistically, how to do it via train. Is it reasonable to think we can spend 2 days in 3 cities? Any recommendations on how to see the best/most in 6-7 days? We are the type of travellers that are up and out by 9am, enjoy being outdoors walking in the city rather than in museums, ... and probably sitting in a cafe by mid-afternoon. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

If you want to see anything at all you really can;t do more than 2 cities IMHO. You have not accounted for the time to travel betwen the two cities. For instance, the train fromPrague to budapest takes the entire day (8/9 hours). You say you're out by 9AM - if you took a train at 10 you would;t get to Budapest until 6/7pm and to your hotel til at least 8pm. So would you count that day for Budapest or Prgaue? And if you try to go to Vienna you'll lose another complete day. You really need to focus on a couple of places in order to see anything (and it would sill be way too short a time to see everything - or even most things)

I agree with the "two cities" concept depending on what you are really interested in seeing within those cities...but if I had an opportunity to also visit Dresden, or Budapest, or Vienna, as well as Prague I would not forego ANY of those by going to Cesky-Krumlov.
