One Way Car Rentals

I have rented cars in Croatia before, but never for a one way rental.

Does anyone know if you can rent from a reputable place like Hertz in Croatia and only take it one way and return it to Sarajevo or elsewhere?

I would price it both ways (one way and also return) just to see the difference in costs.

Hi BT.

There is usually a hefty fee for pickup in one country and drop off in another.

We did this last year and had problems finding a rental agency that would let us drive from Slovenia to Croatia. I know it's done all the time, but it was expensive and for some reason we couldn't find a rental. We ended up flying into Trieste, Italy and returning our car there, and they didn't care where we drove it. I'm sorry I can't remember the agency, but it wasn't Autoeurope.

I have rented a car from Kompas Rent a Car Croatia www.kompasrent.hr from Dubrovnik to Ljubljana (Slovenia) and from Zagreb (Croatia) to Budva (Montenegro). They have reasonable prices.

I just booked a rental with AutoEurope picking our car up in Zagreb and dropping it off in Dubrovnik and there is no one-way drop off fee.

It's really irrelevant what the policy is on moving cars between Croatia and Slovenia.

Kosovo and Bosnia are a whole nuther thing, and you MUST check the details on each car hire company's website

I suspect Mark2009 brought up this somewhat dated thread just to advertise. It's his one and only Fodors posting.
