Family of four at Metropole last June. Room was very nice. Did not eat at hotel. Liked fact could take taxi from train directly to hotel. Also easy walk to San Marco. We liked being on Grand Canal. Have a great trip.

We stayed at the Metropole this past August. We loved it. Our family had 3 rooms. My husband, daughter and I had a very big triple room with a huge bathroom. August is low season so we got a decent rate.
Very nice breakfast was included in the rate.

Location is great.

We also did the water taxi transport as hotel has its own private dock. Expensive, but I felt like a movie star arriving that way!!

I stayed at the Columbina 2 years ago. The room was good and I really liked the location of the hotel. Very close to San Marco but far enough away to be away from the crowds. If you make a left, you're very close to San marco - but if you make a right you're in a very interesting, less traveled part of Venice. My room had a balcony looking over a small canal. If you look to the left, you see the Bridge of Sighs. In fact, if you look at any of the pics of the Bridge, the Columbina is behind it. I would return.

I stayed at the Metropole with my parents awhile back, and really liked it. We went back for their dinner on our honeymoon, and thought it was quite good. Nice hotel, nice service, great linens, which I love.

Stayed in the Antico Doge, junior suite, last April (247 Euros per night - it was high season). Loved the hotel and location. Would definately stay there again.

I was interested in the Hotel Colombina at the time, but it was booked. How do the prices compare?
