One night stay near Versailles-hotel to recommend?

My daughter and SIL will be one night near the palace. They want a queen bed- comfortable and within walking distance of the train from Paris and of the Palace.

Any recommendations? Budget = 150 euros or less.

Also is there a car rental location in that area?

Thanks.

No idea where they are coming from or going to, but rather than pack and move for one night I think it would be better to take the train (RER) from Paris, and return there after. From memory the trip is only about 45 or 50 minutes, and the station is within walking distance of the Palace.

However, they WILL be there for one night, so I am looking for a recommendation for a hotel.

Thanks.

We stayed at and really enjoyed Hotel Residence du Berry, which would appear to meet your criteria. www.hotel-berry.com/en.html

This link is to the Versailles Tourism Office.

They have a booking service, and you will also be able to see and locate accommodation near the Palace.

It has been a very long time since I was there, so they should read latest reviews, but I stayed right across the street from the Palace at Hotel De France. I loved it and loved having a night there. We checked in around noon, did the outside walking around Versailles, visited the Palace first thing the next morning, then headed into Paris. It was a perfect way to start the trip. Their prices seem a bit high, but they have promotions offered directly by the hotel: hoteldefranceversailles.com.
