One night in Athens and car drop off

I'm planning a nine-day trip through the Peloponnese by car (Nafplio, Kardamyli, and Stemnitsana). For the last night, I thought we would return the car at ATH, head into the city and stay near the Acropolis, then take transit or taxi back to the airport the next morning (not early). Am I overlooking something easier/ more efficient, given that we do want the one night in Athens (I know it's too short, but we can come back)?
I know there are a few Greek regulars here--if you have a favorite restaurant anywhere near the Acropolis, I thank you in advance for a recommendation. We are big walkers but would probably rather avoid a longer trek as we are only planning on an evening Acropolis visit that day unless we do much better getting to the city that I expect we will (coming from Stemnitsana area).
I of course welcome any other tips to maximize my brief time in Athens.
thanks!

I would drop car off at airport.
Restaurant near Acropolis- Manh Manh or mani mani depending on the alphabet used. Excellent. Upstairs so easy to miss.

One night is too little in Athens. If you have hired a car the best solution is to leave it at the airport. Otherwise there is also the metro if you stay near Acropoli

Thanks HT!
Yes, I am aware Elpida, but we all have to make choices on a trip, and I prefer to have more time in the Peloponnese. It is most common to arrive in Athens from overseas, so I fully intend to return.

<<Manh Manh or mani mani depending on the alphabet used.>>
In Greek it is MANH MANH in upper case otherwise it’s Μάνη Μάνη, it’s not Manh Manh in any alphabet.
