Hello:

I am thinking about taking the subway, north of Athens to Bus Terminal B, where I'd like to rent a car to drive to Delphi (okay - I'm chicken to rent and drive a car in downtown Athens !!) Can anyone please tell me what rental car agencies have locations near terminal B (260 Liossion St) ? Is there a better place to rent a car, to go north, without having to rent it downtown?

It sure would be a lot easier to just rent a car at the airport. The roads in and out of the airport are large, modern, and easy to navigate.

Elini - Thank you very much for that info. I didn't know if the roads in/out of the airport would be as congested as I understand the roads in Athens are. Do you know how long it would take to reach Delphi, from the airport ? Again, thank you very much for your help!!!!!!!!!

It's been awhile, but my memory is that it takes about 3 hours to get from Athens to Delphi. And don't worry about the driving -- you'll do fine!!!

Hi,
I think you will be okay driving through Athens to get to Delphi. My memory is that there are a lot of cars, but the route to get out of Athens and to Delphi are pretty well marked. There are car agencies in Athens that will help you map out the route. I assume you will in Athens for a few days before you go to Delphi, therefore I do not think it necessary to back out to the airport to rent a car. Have fun.

Airport is a good idea (unless you get sidetracked at the IKEA ...).

Some of ther new roads around the airport have tolls so make sure to have some coins.
