Oberammergau Germany - Passion Play - Dinner

Hello Friends:

We are 4 adults who plan to be in Munich and were able to secure our tickets today for the infamous Passion Play in Oberammergau. I am working on getting roundtrip transportation from Munich, but we have been told that the play breaks for dinner from 4pm - 7pm. We need to make reservations for dinner and we are looking for the best way to do that. We will be there on a Sunday in mid September.

Thanks for your help.

A lot of those attending will have bought the package which includes meals at their accommodation and be aware that the theater holds about 5000 or so viewers so the village is going to seem mobbed during that meal break. I wish I could offer more but we have always attended with "package" tickets so our meals were pre-arranged.
Have you done any sort of search for places to eat?

If you go to the Passion Play website, under Info & Service and In the Theatre, they have a list of restaurants in Oberammergau with phone numbers. Google them and you may get E-mail address or website, where you can make inquiry, in English (or use translation site). Failing that, get a big lunch and just have snacks etc for the evening. You won't be able to carry a lot of food and drinks into the theatre (limit is 0.5L drink - no glass bottle - and small A4-size bag per person), but you can leave them at a cloakroom, for a small charge.
