nuernberg hotels

Will stay in Nuernberg for 2 nights in November and would appreciate hotel suggestions. Any available in the Altstadt in the 80 to100Euro price range?

If you don't mind basic, I highly recommend Gasthaus Pillhofer. I stayed there (single room) in April 2007. Very clean and spacious single room for only €54/night inclu breakfast then. There are no elevators, and no real front desk because it is more of a restaurant than a hotel. But if you don't need front desk/concierge service, this place will be just fine. It is located near the rail station.

Hi charley1316

We have stayed at the Hotel Elch. It's above a restaurant that served very nice food, the room had some old style charm, it's in a building build in 14th century, I think it now has wi-fi. I don't know how you're arriving but we came by train from Frankfurt airport and walked from the rail station dragging our suitcases, not a bad walk however you can also get a taxi at the station. If you need parking they can probably arrange it for you. Below is a link to their website, it looks like a double room starts at 85E. The site is in German but you can change to English by clicking on the British flag at the top right side on the home page.

Hope this helps. Enjoy your visit.

We stayed at the Hotel Ibis Marientor, which is just outside the wall about a block from the train station. It is a basic business hotel with a nice staff, a very good breakfast and internet access if that matters. We made our reservations through Hotel Reservation Service which worked better that the Hotel Ibis centralized site.
