NPR story -- croissant competition in Paris

I just heard the tail end of a story on the best croissants in Paris but can't find a link. Sounds like the winner out of 31 bakeries is located on 72 Rue du Bonaparte in the 6th? Also mentioned the bakers who came in second and third -- in the 20th and 13th arrondissment, respectively. Did anyone hear the whole story or have a link?

Hi F,

Not surprising, it's Pierre Hermé.

One more reason for staying at the Hotel Bonaparte.

Hard for me to believe that the crossaint au beurre i get at any Parisian boulangerie could possibly be made any better? Wonder what the difference could be in dough, water and butter? Jusr curious. Never had a bad croissant if fresh from a bakery in France.

My favorite croissants come from Le Pain Quotidien. Although they have branches in Paris, perhaps they weren't included in the competition because it's a Belgian company. FWIW, I didn't particularly care for the croissants from Fauchon or La Croissanterie.
