What's whose goal?
Airlines get alarms all the time: some from passengers' contacts wanting to annoy an ex-boyfriend, others from people with a grudge against the airline, others wanting a bit of deranged fun. Some MIGHT be genuine: the response of airlines and public authorities obviously varies from case to case.
How seriously they're taken partly depends on the overall environment. Everyone's going to be more prudent right now with AF alarms than they would have been a year ago.
Anything as coherent as a "goal" is highly unlikely

I wonder why people are so unwilling to attribute logical goals to terrorists and to people on whom "war" has been declared.
While this might just have been a prank, hoax, opportunistic moment to create some havoc, it over really shouldn't be surprising that if you go to war against a group, it's going to hit back at you.
I guess people have gotten used to the idea that they can sit comfortably thousands of miles away from a combat zone, using their tax dollars to annihilate hundreds of thousands of people their government says is the enemy, and those people will never figure out a way to blow them out of their chairs. That they will never bleed from this war. Only others will. That was destined to run out at some point. If you want to be in a war, be prepared to get bloodied.

And then there is this idiot!
http://www.businessinsider.com/passe...ys-jet-2015-11
"A female passenger onboard a British Airways flight from London to Boston has been detained after attempting to open the airliner's door mid-flight"
Of course the media oringally reported she stormed the cockpit door.
Nope, she was just drunk and tried to escape over the Atlantic...
(And yes, there are actually "threats" made to airlines a lot. I had to get off a plane in Atlanta a while back Of course it was a prank, but you have to assume it's real. The media just generally doesn't report all of them or even know for that matter.)
