No! Charter flights stop at the end of October. Ferries would also be a problem. Why November? I went to Rhodes in October last year ( the first half) and the weather was great but Lindos, where I was based, practically puts up its shutters October 31st!

Matt, my girlfriend and I are arriving in Athens on Nov 29 and are heading for the islands as well. Olympic airways has flights on their site to the main islands. The schedule is limited to 2-3 flights a day but you can get there, no problem. Sometimes you just gotta go when you can go, right? Maybe we'll see you there.

Christine
I appreciate that is the only time YOU can go but I was just answering Matt's question! He asked if it was an ok time to go.
My advice to you- as November is the only time available for you, Athens is the best place to go. Its a great city. do a search for the must sees. You are obviously going for the siteseeing and not the weather so have you considered staying on the mainland? The choice of places to see is limitless. I'd be happy to give further help if that is what you decide to do. Did you have any islands in mind? My advice there would be to stick to ones with busy towns that will not totally depend on tourists. Rhodes and Crete make great destinations for instance as there are lots of possibilities for trips as well. Kos is another possible although I don't have first hand knowledge, having only been on a day trip. There are many islands that would not make good November destinations, simply because most places will be closed.
Can't remember web address for weather history for Greece but it is worth looking up. Will do a search if you need it!
Back to Matt!
If you can, try going earlier or postponing it till April anyway!

We went to Crete last november and really enjoyed it. Athens in my opinion is another large city and while it is worthwhile for a few days visit, the attraction of Greece is mostly the Islands. I do agree that the islands shut down after October so you should stick to the larger islands such as Crete or Rhodes. I happen to like traveling when others do not for I find it makes for a more interesting and genuine experience. As one Greek put it "The restaurants that are open now are all good"

Joy, you can get historical weather conditions for Zante (Zakynthos) and Corfu (Kerkyra) at
www.wunderground.com/global/GR.html
I would think that both are likely to be fairly cold and wet during winter, so it depends what you call ok and what you're going for. Since most of the resorts on both islands will be pretty much closed for winter, you'd probably be best sticking to the main towns, and as Corfu Town is much prettier and more interesting (imho) than Zakynthos Town, I'd pick the former if I had to make a choice.

Hey, let's get a bit more positive!
There are some places which are lovely in November, I've often been in Greece at this time. Yes, it is quiet and can be wet, but can also be clear. And the Greeks are always friendly, that doesnt stop in November! Nor do the ferries. How would the locals get to and from Athens etc?? My only problem were that the days were too short.
I would recommend western Crete - plenty to see and do in the towns of Chania and Rethymnon (shops, Venetian forts, Minoan sites), and overnight ferries every evening, not to mention 4-6 flights daily.
Or, if you're not strict about it actually being an island but just want to see and smell the sea, try Kardamyli in the southern Peloponnese. Lots of hiking, Byzantine chapels, fishing villages, towers, castles, sea-caves. Buses from Athens take 5 hrs changing at Kalamata.

A good source of info for both these places is:

http://www.i-escape.com/destination_guide_results.php?country=Greece
Good luck!
