what are the not to miss restaurants in Rome?? for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

cheap to moderately priced, under 80 euros.

We only have 4.5 days there and I have a huge list of restaurants that I've saved over the past year and can't determine which to choose!

L'Orso 80 for dinner

Under 80 euros per person or for two? Including wine or not?
We, two couples, spent 8 days in Rome in March eating our way through the city. The dinners averaged approx. 25-50 euro per person.

Da Francesco in Piazza Fico is fun for dinner among locals. Two people certainly will get out for under 80 euro, including wine.

I just got back from Rome (5th time) Years ago I was blown away by dinner at Orso 80 but I ate there a few nights ago and I was not impressed. The antipasti was not as varied as I remembered and not great.

Here are some of my favorites:

Trastevere:

Hostaria del Moro
Hostaria Pizzaria
all located on Vicolo del Cinque

Macaroni via d. coppell near the Pantheon

Cul de Sac between the Pantheon and Corso Vittorio Emmanuel -not sure the specific street name

Canova on Piazza del Popolo for lunch or afternoon snack & cocktail sitting outside & people watching

LOL if you check all my posts the one restaurant I always suggest is Anima Sapori near Piazza Navona. Very good prices, great food and the sweetest staff around! I had a hot salami pizza with boiled egg and it's now the only way I will eat a pizza. I know it sounds strange but don't knock it till you try it. I ate there almost every day.

La Cisterna in Trastevere ( apparently the oldest in Rome!).

I believe it was Kristina. Only I can't remember if I am spelling her name correctly. Do try a search for that spelling and maybe Cristina or Christina. Man, do I feel thick. But it was a most horrible, horrible day here.

One of our favorites is Edys (Vicolo del Babuino, 4 )- between Piazza del Popolo and the Spanish Steps. We go there every time we're in Rome. It's a small place with lots of locals. The last few times we were there, we were the only tourists. Reservations a must - people were still waiting at 10 pm on a weeknight. There are only two waitstaff and they aren't overly friendly (too busy running around) but not rude either. There are tables outside when the weather cooperates. When we were there last year we noticed they has switched to a bilingual menu - probably because no one speaks English!
