Inexpensive resturants in Rome

Can anyone recommend an inexpensive resturant in Rome, Italy where we can make a reservation ahead of time for 12 people. It needs to be in central Rome.

I don't know what your idea of "inexpensive" is, but we thought this restaurant was very reasonable. It's very near the Spanish Steps. I don't know whether it takes reservations, but your hotel could inquire for you and may have other recommendations.

I liked that place too, but go early-- many things on the menu were sold out by time we got there (around 10:30pm).

L'orso 80 has a wonderful antipasto selection for around 11 euros per person and the food just keeps on coming!!

Try Navona Notte, here is their menu and pricelist. This comes highly recommended by the owner of the B&B where I stay when in Rome.

The first link is their website, the second link is their menu and prices:

I havent been to Alla Rampa but it comes highly recommended by friends who were in Rome recently, I will be eating there in March!

I've always enjoyed this place. We once ate here with a party of 10 with no problem, so 12 should be fine.

Il Bacaro should be the ticket....has the space and far surpasses the quality of most restaurants in the center. Check them out at www.ilbacaro.com and enjoy!

Il Bacaro is *not* inexpensive. And you should be aware that Orso 80 has been known to dump uneaten portions of antipasti back on the buffet.

Il Bacaro is on the itinerary for our first night in Rome. Hostaria Costanza's is on the second night. And Baffeto Pizzaria the third. I have been to Costanza's and while not inexpensive, well worth the splurge. I am looking forward to Il Bacaro. I printed the wine list and it is massive. I am so excited to get back to Italy. We leave in 30 days!

If you stand in front of La Rampa (which, BTW, only takes cash, no credit cards, there is a restaurant off to the right called Caffe Leonardo. It's pretty inexpensive, has reliable sandwiches and pasta. There are two other places in the neighborhood I can recommend: one is "Di fronte a..." on via della Croce, where prices are quite reasonable and portions are hearty. The other is actually a bakery, but they serve meals until early evening, and it's called Pasticceria D'Angelo, and it's also on via della Croce. Food is good, anything baked there is utterly divine.
