Norway Itinerary--advice needed!
We are planning a 16-18 day trip to Norway and Denmark beginning August 21.
we will land in Oslo. I am trying to figure how to organize the itinerary. We can rent a car. We want to see the scenery and do some easy hiking.
Would appreciate your recommendations. I don't know if the tentative plan below works out.
I don't know about the driving times.
3 nites: Oslo
2 nites: Bergen
3 nites: We would like to spend 3 nights in one hotel/pension where we can take walks/easy hikes during the day. We love going to Murren/Wengen in the Swiss Alps.
Any suggestions where? Nes Gard got good reviews in this forum.
3-4 nites: on Hurtigruten ship. I read that going north has more interesting stops/excursions and that the first day or two out of Bergen are less interesting.
Where should we pick up the ship? get off? how many nites?
I read that certain days are in rougher waters. I get seasick so if there is a choice, i'd prefer smoother waters.
How get to Denmark?? The fast ferry is from Kristiansand (south end of Norway) to Hirtshals--looks like a distance from Copenhagen.
Thank you!

Get on at Trondheim. Good train connections with Oslo. Hurtigruten hugs the coast, newer ships have better stabilizers. Or, get off at Trondheim and start at Kirkenes (connecting flight from Oslo)
Good ferries to Denmark: Oslo - Copenhagen.
