Northen Italy Help planning needed
We want to visit northen Italy this comming summer 2004, we need help locating a small town or big city where we can do family sigth seen and stroll. We have a 12 year old boy and a 3 year old girl. We need to find accomodations where children are allowed and children can have fun.

My favorite areas are the small towns
Siena my favorite but most other yield the charm most have in mind with Italy.
Venice is certainly worth the trip but I found it to be touristy, dirtier than gems like Assisi (sp) even padova, verona.

I like Turin, it's a beautiful city surrounded by the mountains with dozens of small cities around the countryside, agriturismo and that kind of stuff- even the whole Emilia-Romagna would be a good choice

Venice, dirty? Okay.... You can't compare Venice with Assisi and Verona, they are totally different type of cities. Each city has its charm and each is different, and though I like all 3, all 3 are filled with tourists.
