Not an inn, but the Château de la Bellefontaine, 800 meters from the center of town but on a quiet country lane with cows next door and a rushing stream, was just great for us. Big, sunny, comfortable rooms, lovely garden and grounds, no restaurant but they did serve breakfast. We thought it was a great bargain for about 75 euros for a double room two years ago.

Thank you, I just posted a request for info about the place before checking this board!!! It looks like a lovely spot. We will be there in December does it look like it would be sufficiently heated?

I have no idea whether the château de Bellefontaine is sufficiently heated in December - we were there in summer when it wasn't an issue. But I'm sure you can find their website on a google search and write them and find out. I would expect they are fully prepared to meet guests at any time of year.

The Hotel de Notre Dame in Bayeux has an adjoining restaurant that serves both breakfast and lunch included in the price of your room. It is conveniently located across the street from the Cathedral de Notre Dame in the middle of town. I have stayed there 4 times and have never been disappointed with the hotel, food, or service.
