Non-hotel housing in St. Petersburg?
Hi all -
My husband and I are going to St. Petersburg in mid-June. We're trying to spend ~$100/night at most, so we're looking for housing options other than traditional hotels. Specifically, we'd love to rent a room or an apartment or stay with a family. Anyone have any recommendations for how to arrange this safely? I looked on VRBO and didn't see many choices.
Thank you!

There's something called "mini hotels. Here is a website but also have you googled B+B's?
http://www.st-petersburg-hotels-russia.com/mini.htm
Casa Leto also gets good reviews.

White Nights start around the 11th June for about a month and during this time accommodation is either more expensive or booked up.
Room rates in Casa Leto in June start at USD300.
Google host families St Petersburg or apartment rental St Petersburg for options.
holiday-rentals.co.uk have some options.

We were in SPB in Sept for a week. Our apt was great. check out www.apartments-st-petersburg.net. The apt we stayed in is on thef second page at the bottom, Millionaya 27T. It was down the street from The Hermitage and was once an old palace. Grocery across the street, bus stops close by as well as Mcdonalds.
