"Nice" restaurant in Nice
While we are in France this year, my hubby will be celebrating his 35th bday on June 1st. We are scheduled to be in Nice that day, staying at Palais de Mediterranee. I would like some suggestions for a wonderful birthday celebration. 50-100 euros pp is fine.
I was thinking of doing a Calanques cruise earlier in the day, and perhaps returning to Nice in the evening for dinner, or maybe staying in the Cassis area since we will be at the Calanques already.
Any suggestions?

My first recommendation would be La Voglila, a newish Italian restaurant right on the corner of the Cours Saléya. The food is...well, just terrific, and the atmosphere is lively--be sure to reserve your table in advance, as the restaurant is extremely popular. The décor is Italian modern, the service first rate, and all in all it's a fine experience.
Another popular restaurant in Nice is Don Camillo, but we've never managed to dine there.

I just looked at Cigalechanta's link and saw La Zucca Magica which I was about to suggest. It's vegetarian but delicious even for carnivores--set menu and reservations a must.
I also see on the link that they recommend Restaurant du Gesu: they have delicious and inexpensive food (pizza is wonderful too) and it's always packed w/locals. (The tiny square can be hard to find but it's worth it). I've recommended this place here a couple of times and am surprised that it's not more popular for the price/value.
I'll have to check out Le Table Alziari in June since it's our favourite oil company so thanks to Cigale for the lead.
Jen, have a wonderful birthday dinner!
