Nice in September
I'm going to Nice for four days at the beginning of September. Can anyone recommend some "must sees". I would like to maximize my stay as much as possible. I will probably not have a car unless it becomes imperative. Thanks.

What kind of sightseeing interests you? Nice has the Promenade des Anglais for strolling, the Cours Saléya open-air market surrounded by cafés and restaurants, Vieux Nice for old churches and windy streets filled with tempting shops, Roman ruins, a number of first-rate museums, and beaches (mostly pebbles, not sand).
You should be able to get to just about everything by bus or the occasional taxi.
I'd suggest picking up a guidebook or flyers at the Nice tourist office on your arrival to let you maximize the time you have in the area.

Buy a tin of the famous olive oil of Nice at Alziari, 14 Rue Saint-François-de Paule, go to the open air markey stretched out along the Cours Saleya,
Stop at a restaurant or stand to try the famous Nice Socca, what olives are to Nyons, chicken to Bressa, socca is to Nice.I can best describe it as a kind of crepe but made of checkpea flour
and try the Pissaladiere, a pizza with onions, anchovies, black olives. There's a tourist trolley. You can visit many museums, The Matisse included.
Everyone's "mustsee" is different that's why a guide book is recommended.
Some like to sit in a cafe in a square and people watch, others like going to visit the churches and museumss, and some are only interested in the regionl food. there all personal choices. I like Nice.
