Thanks for the latest replies, thursdaysd, scatcat, 3sica, StCirq and Stu Dudley!

Though we all have different travel styles, it's obvious we all share the love of travel and I really appreciate being able to come here for tips and info from those who've been where I'm heading. As an example, based on tips and advice I was able to master the sncf-voyages site and snagged PREMS in a language I haven't really gotten to use since high school, saving loads on our TGV journey.

A more accurate portrayal of DH is occasionally-wobbly-senior-brit-on-a-cane-who'll-never-complain so many of my questions are to help me plan to avoid backtracking, etc and conserve time and energy, especially during the parts where I'm pulling the suitcase with my left hand whilst steadying him with my right.

thursdaysd and scatcat--I did a bit more research and might combine ideas and take the 98 to Gare Routiere (instead of Albert 1er but same walking distance) where there hopefully are taxis if I think we need one, otherwise we can hoof it through Vieux Nice and snack along the way. I did find a reservable cab site which quotes about 52 euros from the airport to Hotel Suisse! If I feel I need to use it I will, otherwise, save it for wine!

StCirq, I looked over my post which is an outline of what I think I'd like to include--maybe if I'd taken out the googled travel times, etc it wouldn't have struck you as so obsessive, but I had already looked most of this up as a guide, not a mandate. Mostly I just was looking to know if my plan seemed possible and to get answers to the questions from anyone who might know. P.S., I'll try to temper my upcoming plea for feedback on the Paris leg of the journey;-)

Stu, thanks for the vote of confidence--I always do make adjustments as we go and I'm sure this trip will be no exception. It works for us. As for your wagers, well, I at least have to put my feet into sea, and your well-known love of the Luberon and perched villages has seduced me to include at least one village--as for more, well, I'd love to, but not sure that the Sunday/Monday time in that area will be conducive to it. For now I thought to choose the ochre of Roussillon over the more obvious Gordes if we only have time for one as Gordes sounds more congested and possibly more difficult to navigate. I could be wrong. Let me know! On the other hand, it is possible we will skip the Lavender Museum and have a chance to go into Gordes as well on Saturday. Bonnieux does sound delightful but again, with our constraints, I think the timing is off--it pained me to admit that in the cutting round.

Again, thanks to all!
