New boat cruises in Rome
Hi
from the New York Times, June 8 03?These water buses cruise the Tiber, passing under bridges some of which date back to Roman times. On the straight boat ride, you can pay for one trip, or a day pass.
The full circuit includes 8 stops, including Isola Tiberina and Castel Sant?Angelo.
There is a separate boat line for 75-minute boat tours. There is also a combination of boat ride plus minibus tour of Rome's sights. Both start at Ponte Sant?Angelo, two tours start in the morning, two in the afternoon. Finally, dinner cruises are also available.

Elaine, thank you for original info and your "topping", otherwise I would have missed it and we are spending a (school) year in Italy, about 90 mins. from Rome, starting in Septemeber. I have put this on the list of "must do" events as we so enjoyed a similar tour in Paris recently.

A boat cruise through the center of Rome on the Tiber sounds enchanting, however, if I remember correctly, the Tiber has a levee (or bank) that is at least 10-15 meters high all the way through Rome. To me, all you are going to be able to see from a cruise is the bridges, the walls of the levee and the rooftops of the buildings closest to the river. And isn't there a small 1-2 meter high waterfall at Tiber Island? Just wondering......
