Thanks, we are staying first three nights in Haarlem and will make trips into central area. Looking forward to exploring outside the bigger cities.

You'll love it. The Netherlands outside of Amsterdam is so different.

Zaanse Schans is a collection of old buildings that were moved to the site. We didn’t think it worth our time. On another trip to the Netherlands, we went to Kinderdijk and that was a prefect spot to spend a day, surrounded by historic windmills in their original setting.
Two years ago, we did not encounter crowds in the museums. We had pre purchased tickets for the Rijs but walked right in.
Amsterdam is wonderful and it is easy to travel by train to many other towns and small cities.
