Need some help on London hotel choicess.

Hello Fodorites;
Narrowed the choices to the Jenkins and Harlingford hotels on Cartwright Garden, and the St. Margret’s on Bedford Place. Does anybody have any information on these hotels that can help in the choice?
Greg, may I ask the reason for your choices and when you are going? I had looked at the Jenkins Hotel for our trip last May due to its connection to the Hercule Poirot series on PBS. However, for about the same money I was able to book the 4-star Rubens Hotel across from Buckingham Palace on www.londontown.com. I seem to remember a post on Fodors about the Jenkins. Have you tried doing a search?

I have said this over and over and over...the BEST hotel in London is the Morgan in Bloomsbury. The best, the best, the best. Run by the wonderful Ward family it is a gem and a delight.

Greg, I wouldn't have thought of May as the off season, so I was surprised when the 84 pound rate came up. However, I grabbed it! Including a full English breakfast and VAT, the rate came to 99 pounds. I had been looking at various websites for a few weeks and had already booked a superior room at the Park International for the same money. My plan was to have something confirmed (that I could cancel without penalty) but to keep checking websites for something better. I found this rate in February I believe.

The Rubens has a website that also offers specials and right now, for mid-May, the cheapest rate I found was 99 pounds thru their "last minute deals" (http://www.rubenshotel.com/index_flash.htm). Not sure if that includes VAT and/or breakfast though.

I also know that a lot of people get great rates thru laterooms.com and lastminute.com.

That link I gave you lists a number of good but cheap hotels in London. One of those is the Morgan Hotel.
