Here is where we stayed in June 2006:

Kinsale-Old Prebytery-Good location, own parking, great breakfast, our rooms was pretty small

Kenmare-Shelburne-Absolutely loved it. Beautiful old home, own parking, the best breakfast we had, large room, nice innkeepers, good location (out of town but absolutely walkable)

Dingle-Greenmount House-Great location, own parking, big room and bathroom, good breakfast

Lahinch-Moy House-Our favorite of the trip, View is amazing, dinner and breakfast both excellent, wonderful rooms and bathrooms, Old manor home with lots of character-we dream of our return!

Just as a heads up, this post is nearly a year old. The OP has probably come and gone.

The Shores on the North side of the Dingle peninsula. Easily my favorite B&B in Ireland. http://www.theshorescountryhouse.com Greenmount is very expensive when traveling single. Heatons not so much.

Wonderful views from the Atlantic View IN Doolin (http://www.doolinferries.com/atlanticview.html) Huge Irish breakfast in the morning. The breakfast room looks out on the cliffs to one side and the Arans to the other.

Stayed at Laragh House in KIlkenny (http://www.laraghhouse.com/) and it was quite nice. Very comfortable though a pretty long walk to town. Alcantra has a great reputation, but my understanding is that you can't book there unless you say you hear about it on irelnadyes or are a return visitor.

I might have missed something, but I wasn't real impressed with Trim. Granted, I didn't stay there, but it seems like there might be more interesting towns to stay in.

I've just finished booking places for our trip in May. We're staying at Doonagore Farmhouse just outside Doolin (and within walking distance to Cliffs), staying at Cill Bhreac House in Dingle, and in Kinsale at The Olde Bakery B&B. We are also staying two nights in the area around Donore where the 4000 year old burial mounds and Trim Castle are - we are staying at Roughgrange Farm there - my daughter and son-in-law said if we ever went to Ireland we had to stay here as it was their very favorite part of their trip. Not staying in Kilkenny, but we are staying in the Wicklow Forest a stone's throw from Glendalough at the Derrymore House B&B on the lake - looks beautiful. Good luck.

I know this is a fairly old thread, but . . .

mamo, if you made your trip and have any comments on these places you stayed, I would appreciate hearing them. Thanks!
