Need recommendation for lodging in Amboise, please!
We will be on the last bit of our Normandy visit, and would like to stay one night in a chateau in the Amboise area. Specifically, I want to see Chenonceau, so something near that would be ideal.
I got a recommendation from a friend for the Chateau de Pray, but all they have in my price range is in the annex, which they say is "more modern". Has anyone stayed in the annex? I really don't want to go over 110 or so euros.
Thanks in advance!
Mindy

le Manoir les Minimes has doubles in their annex for 105Euro. The hotel gets RAVE reviews from all over, so we have booked for 2 nights in October ('Tradition Room' in the main house for 120Euro). Breakfast in either case is 11 Euro/pp.
They provide a parking area, but are located in town so you can walk to eating places. You will need to fax a request, but they will confirm with email. You will find MANY recs on this board as well.

We enjoyed our stay at Le Fleuray, which is well within in your price range, and also has a good restaurant.

It is often mentioned here. Type "amboise AND hotel" into the earch box at the top of this page to pull up lots of threads.

I agree with le Manoir les Minimes, stayed there at the end of March and it was wonderful. It is the small things like a nice white bath robe, the view of the Loire and Chateau... The Le Choiseul is next door so you could go there for dinner.
The drive to Chenonceau was easy. Have a good trip.....Denise
