Need hotel recommendations for Zermatt
Looking for a nice hotel for 2 adults and a 13 year old child, with a good view of the Matterhorn from the room. A large room or suite would be acceptable. Would also consider an apartment.
Need it for 2 nights in July.
Any recommendations appreciated.

Hi, whitehall.
Having done some searching on my own, it's clear that July is a pretty popular season in Zermatt, and hotel rooms are hard to find, even now. My preference would be a 3-star or higher hotel, and since I'd be looking for a larger room or suite, I'm pretty well resigned to paying whatever it takes. I don't know what my pain limit is, but "I'll know it when I see it."

Hello again.
I just booked a room at the Sclosshotel Zermatt ( https://schlosshotelzermatt.ch/en/ ).
Looks like a nice hotel.
Thanks again.

Looks like a great choice. Very near where our son stayed. We just watched his many videos from his time there a couple weeks ago. We haven't been to Zermatt, a little far from our trip to Jungfrau last fall. But we have added it to our list. We see Zermatt often criticized for being too touristy but they took near empty cable cars up to the Matterhorn amid perfect ski conditions. The village didn't look that crowded to us either.

Dont know about rooms to accommodate 3 but we have stayed multiple times at the Allalin and absolutely adore it. Wonderful, homey public spaces and very pleasant hotel rooms. Incredibly good (and very pretty) breakfast room and food. Staff is super helpful. If you decide you want to take a nice day trip while you are there, consider Brig, recommended to me by the Alallin staff,=. We go to see it each time we are in Zermatt. Great old palace. And the Ambassador hotel in Brig has a terrific restaurant for a great lunch.
Enjoy. We love the times we've spent in Zermatt.
