Need hotel recommendation in Paris

My husband and I will be traveling to Paris for 10 days in the middle of October. Can anyone recommend a clean, quiet 2 or 3 star hotel with easy access to the center of town (either by foot or Metro)? We've seen some rooms offered for about 90 euros per night, but reviews aren't great... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Linda

Hi

We stayed near the Eiffel Tower in the 7th District at the Royal Phare Hotel - http://www.hotel-royalphare-paris.com.
Very adequate. Metro and supermarket less than 50 metres away. We bought supplies and had breakfast in our room - much cheaper.

Another choice nearby is the Prince Hotel - http://www.hotel-paris-prince.com/

Hope this helps.

I like the Grand Hotel des Balcons in the 6th. Near the Odeon metro and Luxembourg Gardens. It was a bit over $100 a night 2 years ago.

I like the charming little Hotel du Lys in the 6th, very close to 2 metro stations (St. Michel and Odeon) and in a great location for exploring both the left and right banks. NB : no elevator

Also, I recently stayed at and liked the Hotel Bonaparte, close to St. Sulpice and St. Germain metros. It's another 2 star, (with an elevator!)with a very friendly staff, and in a super location, also. They have no website, but someone here will post their phone # and fax, I'm sure.

Hotel du Lys is 115e for a double, breakfast inc., and Hotel Bonaparte doubles start at 124e, inc. breakfast.

Not sure exactly what your budget is but Hotel St. Germain in the 6th, 88 Rue de Bac is a cute and comfotable hotel. Easy access to everything and Rue de Bac is a very charming street in itself.

Hi Fodorites,
Thanks for your suggestions.
Linda and her husband ended up making a reservation at Hotel Résidence Monge, following great reviews from Fodorites. I think they made a good choice and will enjoy the hotel.
So no need for more suggestions right now.
Thanks again
Keren (45 more days before I go to Paris)

Yes, as Keren said, we've made our decison. Thanks for all the suggestions. This is our first trip to Paris and I am hoping that everything will be as wonderful as we expect.

Thanks again,
Linda
