Need hotel in Paris quicklyl

My friends are in Germany for three days, then will head to Paris. They want to change from the hotel they have reserved. I know there are numerous posts by Fodorites on good hotels in Paris. We're in a crunch. Please help.

Anything in the 5th or 6th you can recommend that is safe for two women, close to the metro, and under $150 a night? This is a first trip to Paris.

By the way, if you have a hotel recommendation, an e-mail address will help.

Thanks loads!

We stayed here a couple of years ago - http://hoteldelesperance.fr/index.htm?lang=en

It's smallish and quiet and we liked it quite a bit.

We stayed at Hotel Europe St. Severin in the Latin Quarter in July. Was right near the shops and night life. Around corner from St. Michel/Notre Dame metro. We enjoyed it.

Look for Etap or Ibis hotels on accorhotels.com.

Le Grand Hôtel Lévêque, on rue Cler in the 7th, is both well located and reasonably priced -- a rare find in Paris. The only problem is it might be hard to get a room on such short notice.

Good luck

What are the dates of your trip? Rent Paris has an apartment in the 6th that has some availability and it's in your price range: http://www.rentparis.com/appart-en-49.html

You might save some time by going to www.venere.com to see what is available at this short notice. You can put in areas and I think price points. Have a great trip!
