Need hotel in Munich with a/c

Searching for hotel recs in Munich for trip the first week in July w/ husband & 5 year old daughter. Would prefer not to be right next to train station. Suburbs are fine as long as it isn't too far out - we speak German & are OK with taking public transportation...b&b is fine...I am just nervous about no a/c. We have a reservation at the Gasthaus Englischer Garten right now. Trying to stay under 150 euro, if possible. Any thoughts?

Check out the Hotel Platzl, about a block off the Marienplatz. It's a very nice hotel right in the center of things; spacious rooms, good a/c and breakfast.

Stephpaige: here is a link to the Platzl's website. Under "A to Z" notice the hotel says they will provide "fans during the hot time of year."

I do not think the rooms are air conditioned

You might want to consider the Hotel Acanthus.

My wife and I were in Munich 3 years ago and stayed at the Tripp Hotel. Had a/c and one of the best breakfast's we have ever had in Europe. Approximately 10 minute walk to train station. Price was 99Euro. If possible take the BMW factory tour. Totally unlike anything you've ever seen. We found it thru Trip Advisor.

We stayed at the Platzl in the summer and it is quite warm - I liked the hotel but we were forced to keep our window open to catch a breeze. The Platzl is right across the street from the Hofbrauhaus and it's noise, so this is not a good choice in the heat.

Try the Hotel Amba, right across from the train station. Check on the A/C, but to the best of my recollection they do have it. It should also be well w/in your price range.

Check out Hotel Advokat at www.hotel-advokat.de. It is well located in the center of Munich, nowhere near the train station, comfortable rooms with a/c, and enormous, delicious breakfasts. We are paying 150E this coming July.

If you can stay on a weekend, the major hotel chains which usually have air conditioning have special weekend rates. We had a suite at the Marriott Renaissance Munich for 119 euros on their european weekend special. It was six metro stops (10 min) from the Marienplatz but the subway was only 1/2 block from the hotel. Your daughter would enjoy the Saturday morning market which sets up in the pedestrian street in front of the hotel.
