"<i>I thought only my wife knew I could be an idiot</i>"

If you enter 31 Rue St Louis en l'ile on google you get the exact location. Maybe it is the GPS that is an idiot.

(But there could always be the 'garbage in garbage out' factor too )

Travelbound44,

Can you browse to the street on your GPS and see if there may be any naming strangeness?

I really wish someone would come forward with a GPS and agree that entering the Name, Address or just the street, Rue Saint Louis En L'Ile doesn't exist on their map. Neither does Quai D'Orleans. Yes, I have used Maps before and done just fine. Actually it's my navigator wife who is good with maps.I am a guy. I think that explains why she will always carry the map.

You were so correct. I love to make fun of myself so here goes....... I asked my wife what Rue meant and she told me "Street" DOH!!!! If I just type in Saint Louis En L'Ile without the Rue in front I get a reading. Case solved. Thanks for all the reply's and great comments. Time to move on

Glad it worked out. Hope the "D'oh!" factor doesn't last too long.

The weird thing is that I have input several streets beginning with "Rue" and didn't have a problem. Must be one of the "glitches" of modern technology!

Might be how the underlying map data was entered. I know that there's a number of places between here and Niagara Falls where my Garmin GPSs will give directions pronouncing the name of the Queen Elizabeth Way (referred to as the Q.E.W.) as "Cue". Perhaps a similar faux pas in play there.

In any case, enjoy your trip.
