Need Help Planning Trip To Norway
I'm flying from the US to Oslo with some friends for a wedding (which is on 8/2)and need some help planning our trip. Here is our tentative itinerary but any suggestions are more than welcome!
Arrive in Oslo on 8/1 and we think that we want to stay in Oslo until the morning of the 4th-is this too long?
Leave Oslo on the morning of the 4th and go on the Nutshell tour and spend the night in Bergen that night.Should we only spend 1 night in Bergen or 2?
Then,we want to go to Stockholm or Copenhagencan. Which would you suggest? Rather than take a train from Bergen back to Oslo and then fly out, can we fly directly from Bergen to Stockholm? Can we fly from Bergen to Copenhagen?
If we only spent one night in Bergen and could fly direclty then flew then we'd arrive on the 5th in Sto/Cop. We don't have to fly back to the US until 10th..is this too many days in Sto. or Cop.?
Any suggestions on a better way to plan our trip? Are thre any little villages that we are missing? Does anyone know how I book the ticket b/w Bergen and Sto. or Cop? Does anyone know how much it costs?
Also, if we stick to this itinerary and have 3-4 days in Cop. or Sto. are there any day excursions that are a must?
Sorry for all the questions and I hope this makes sense! Tahnks.

You'll enjoy Scandinavia. We were there in summer 2001 and loved it.
You won't need three or four days in Oslo. Plan for two full days (and make sure you go to the famous park with the statues - don't recall the name). If you arrive early on the 1st, count it as a day and leave on the Nutshell tour on the 3rd.
I'd add a night in Bergen. The Nutshell is a long day and you'll arrive in Bergen well into the evening. That's one night, and if you spend the next day in Bergen and stay the night, that's two.
Next morning fly to either Copenhagen or Stockholm. It's a tough choice. Personally I'd go to Stockholm. It's far prettier and I think a more pleasant city to stroll and tour. Copenhagen feels younger and livelier, but Stockholm is not sleepy by any means. The old town (Gamla Stan) is very unique and the downtown is modern, cosmopolitan and pleasant all at once. There's also more to do in Stockholm.
But here's the kicker. Since you'll have four or five days when you arrive in Stockholm, I'd spend two days there, then rent a car and drive to Copenhagen. The drive takes you through the Swedish countryside, including the famous "glassworks" where blown glass like Orrefors and Kosta Boda are made.
It's probably a day's drive, but there are things to do along the way. Then enjoy a busy day in Copenhagen walking along the Stroget (lively pedestrian market street) and through NyHavn (new harbor) and some of the other main areas. Then you can fly home from there, or easily return to Oslo for your return flight if necessary.
For the internal flights, try the SAS (Scandinavian Airlines) web site.
That's my advice. Hope it's helpful.

When in Oslo, allow time for a trip (take the ferry behind the Radhus (City Hall) to Bygdoy - the museums there can easily fill an entire day!
Vieglands Park is where you'll find all those wonderful sculptures. You can easily spend a few hours 'analyzing' what you're seeing!
IMHO, I would allow for 3 nights in Oslo and 2 in Bergen.
You can't help but be awed by the scenery on the Nutshell trip. ENJOY
