Need Help choosing Florence Hotels

Will be in Florence next May (getting married in Palazzo Vecchio). We have the following hotels booked but have never been to Florence and would like input if you have stayed at any of these places:

During the week we are deciding between Hotel Silla and Hotel Boccaccio

The night before and night of the wedding we are trying to decide between Grand Hotel Villa Medici and Hotel Lungarno (figured we could splurge these two nights!!)

Any recommendations on any of these hotels and the areas they are in?

Thanks for the help

norahe,

Friends of ours go to Florence 3-4 times a year for business, and stay only at the Lungarno. They say it has a wonderful location and outstanding riverfront views from some of its rooms, as well as exceptional service. Based on their recommendation, we have booked to stay there for two nights next August.

The Lungarno has also received very good reviews from tripadvisor.com and The Wine Spectactor.

Hope this helps!

The Lungarno is wonderful. Make sure to get a room with a terrace overlooking the Arno. That's essential! Congratulations.

Thanks for the advice on Hotel Lungarno. We have booked a room with balcony overlooking the Arno for the night before and the night of the wedding. We have decided to stay at Hotel Silla the four nights prior while we are in Florence getting all of the paperwork done.
