Need Help ASAP! Can Expedia do this??
My daughter purchased tickets through Expedia to fly Chicago to Athens. The flight was Air Canada to Montreal then to Paris, then Olympic Air to Athens. Her flight this afternoon was delayed out of Chicago so she is stuck for the night in Montreal. She called Expedia and they said that since she could not make her Olympic Air flight she is out of luck. The ticket will be cancelled both ways and she will have to now purchase a new ticket. We just got a frantic call from Montreal asking us to see if we could find her another flight from Paris to Athens. So she is just out the money she spent because her flight was delayed? She has to buy a totally new ticket? I must be naive because I thought she could just take a later flight on the same airline. She is freaking out.

This depends on how she was ticketed. If this is all one ticket - then the airline is responsible for getting her to her destination. But - if she bought separate tickets - no matter from whom - and she misses one of her flights, then yes that flight will be cancelled - and she has to buy another at whatever price she can find.
The best reason for buying your all your travel as a single ticket (unless parts of it are short hops after landing and spending time somewhere - and the buyer assumes the risk of the separate flight not being on schedule).
If she bought all from Expedia at the same time I don;t know why it wouldn't be one ticket - but only you and she know how it was purchased and ticketed.

DD did buy one ticket but the Expedia agent says it is against Olympic Air policy. She just rebooked but is going to try to talk to Olympic Air. She is trying to get to Santorini to meet up with a one week cruise, so I pray she makes it. So far, not so good

That doesn't make sense. What's against Olympic policy? If Expedia booked this as one ticket, they should be handling the problem about rebooking.
