Sorry not any use here, but do book before you fly. TI will get you in somewhere but there are few hotels for the demand

We stayed in the Hotel Metropole(May 2005).

I think we were in one of the back rooms (not facing Rossio).

I have no complaints about the hotel. We loved the location.

I am sure some of the others will come up on a search as the Geres was mentioned just recently here.

We stayed at the Residencial Florescent this past July and loved it. Very well located and a nice hotel at a good price. I wrote a review of it on TA and as part of my trip report here which is at: http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34854723

I have a review and photos of the Geres in my report from this past May. It can be found either by clicking on my screen name or searching for "Portugal Trip Report". Let me know if you have any questions.

Ms. Magellan,

We also stayed at the Residencial Florescent a few years ago and would recommend it. The hotel is basic, but clean and comfortable. The location is great. At that time, the hotel even picked us up at the airport (for free).

Lisbon is fantastic. Enjoy your trip (and be sure to include at least one night of fado!)

ms Magellan, I should congratulate you by choosing a Portuguese screen name. I think it was a sensible way to start preparing a visit to Portugal.
