What are your favorite Hotels in Lisbon?
I am looking for some personal recommendations for hotels in the Lisbon area.....possibly around the 85 to 140 euro range.
We lived in Lisbon for 2 yrs,. (in the mid 1970's),but that is a LONG time ago and I know thing have changed. We know the Cascais/Estoril area, and a little less about downtown...and haven't decided which area to stay this November. Thanks for ANY suggestions.

Mari,
Have yet to travel there.
and there does not seem to be an abundance of threads on Portugal,
But, have you tried a search here?
There is a box above all the replies in this forum which says,
Search this Forum.
I jsut typed in Lisbon Hotels and it came up with some past replies.
the funny thing about the search here is that if you also type in Hotels in Lisbon, you will probably get additional posts, too.
Good luck!

Several years ago we stayed at the Radisson SAS in Lisbon. It was very nice, although a bit more removed from everything than we would have preferred. I do not remember the price at all though, sorry! We also stayed in Cascais at a Best Western, although it was locally run and did not feel like a chain at all. That hotel actually was really nice...very nice rooms, incredible staff, good location, and a nice pool. I am sure others have more information, but at least here is a bit

Hotel Mundial, off of Praca Dom Pedro, Baixa, is in your price range. It is in a central location, close to Rossio Metro stop and train station (the train you take to Sintra).
Hotel Mundial, 4 Rua Dom Duarte, 01-886-31 01. Ask for a room with a view of Castelo Sao Jorge.

Stayed at Hotel Mundial last year-the convenience of its location to the Rossio train station, the metro and the tram can't be beat. The rooms were spacious and quite modern and the staff went out of their way to accommodate. It's rooftop restaurant offers stunning views of Lisbon from every angle, or you're just a few minutes walk from dozens of restaurants in every price range. Enjoy your return to Lisbon-it's a fabulous, and imho, underated city!
