Need camping help in Germany & Austria.
Need any info. on tent camping in Germany/Austria for either Sept 07 or May 08. Will be renting a car and hoping to loosely plan exploration of these areas over a two week time period staying in campgrounds for the majority of time. Any help on weather, good camping guides, restrictions. How popular is tent camping in Europe in general? I am just beginning to plan.

Tent camping is popular in Europe, at least with northern Europeans, I can't speak for the Spanish italians, etc.
There are plent of good campsites around, and at the times you are planning to visit you shouldn't need to book in advance. There are several good guides to European campsites available. Mostly from the European motoring organisations. For Germay and Austria I wwould suggest you try and get the ACSI one. you could have a look at http://tinyurl.com/yq7754 and http://tinyurl.com/295q44 too. There are stacks of websites offering info if you Google Campsites Germany.
