Need Advice on Itin.

Hi everyone! I am in the rough draft stages of planning my honeymoon. I have an itin. but would like your advice/feedback. We are looking to take this trip in June '06 so we have awhile, but I love Europe and the planning stages so I'm taking a stab at this a bit early. We are looking to stay 4/5 days in Germany, Switzerland and France (possibly cutting one of them shorter and heading to a beautiful beach somewhere in Spain):

Fly into either Frankfurt or Munich. (We aren't too interested in staying in Frankfurt, but would love to visit a bit in Munich).

Rent a car and do the Romantic Road (not all the towns, but a few).

End in Fussen and see King Ludwig's Castle and the Nueschweinstein Castle (sorry if I butchered the spelling). Love the Alps!

Then head into Switzerland and stay in Luzerne.

Off to Provence ...

And to end the trip I would like to stay on a beach with clear blue water that isn't touristy .. possibly Spain somewhere? Or is that out of the question.

Any advice/feedback would be greatly apprciated.

Thanks!!

Ok, I messed up. King Ludwig's Castle is not there ... it's another castle that is yellow and starts with an H. Sorry for the confusion!

whoops - - hit post before I was finished typing.

Schloss Linderhof is a good 90 minutes away, if not further (I have never traveled from one to the other via Fussen, only via Reutte, in Austria).

Aside from renting a car to see the Romantische Straße, how do you plan to travel? Have you counted the travel days in your itinerary? Have you looked at a map to see how far the Spanish beaches would be from the Provence?

Now, I am thoroughly confused - - when I click on "Post reply", I see my first post, but when I simply view the thread, I do not. So, at the risk of posting duplicately, here is what I typed originally...

Message: Hohenschwangau. And it is "there" - - less than ten minutes apart from Neuschwanstein.

Maybe you were thinking of Schloss Linderhof as "King Ludwig's castle" (all three are, in my mind) - - that's a good

..guess you decided on Italy rather than Hawaii as I am sure this is too early for a second honeymoon. Is your total duration 2 weeks? If so I really cut out Switzerland (or France..from your itinerary..sounds like Germany is a first priority)..things seem a bit rushed..you can meander down the "romantic road"..and recovery from jet lag (and wedding activities) for first 5 -6 days..then I'd pick 2 other places (or 1 really great location) and make day trips...

Thanks for your information. Yes, we are not looking at Europe instead of Hawaii. I've been to Europe a few times in the past and just love it. Twice when I was little and once in 1996 but that was more of a backpacking tour .. whereas I'd like this trip to be a bit nicer and more organized. I LOVE Europe so I tend to start planning waaaaay to early so at times my questions seem random. Thanks for your help!
