Need a place to relax in Southern Italy -- Capri? Amalfi? Positano?
Hi! This is my first time posting and I need your expert advice!! We are planning to end our 2 week Honeymoon in Southern Italy (flying out of Naples May 30). We are aiming to stay 3 nights or so in one place. I've heard good things about Amalfi, Positano, and Capri but not sure where to stay. My only 'must do' is a day trip to Pompeii.
We'll be coming out of a couple days in Rome and are looking for a place to just sit back and relax. Would love a hotel with a pool or beach where we can wind down before the long trip home. Looking to stay in a location that is walkable to restaurants etc. Trying to stay around $200-$250 but might be willing to spend a little more for something with spectacular views and/or location.
(also open to any other city suggestions!)
Thanks for your help!

If you're coming from Rome, you will pass Pompeii on the way to the Amalfi coast. I'd suggest leaving Rome fairly early, say around 8am and get to Pompeii for around 11am-ish, depending on traffic. You'll then have the rest of the day to explore and 4/5 hours should be enough.
I'd then aim for Positano as a base. It is (for me) the best of the Amalfi coast towns with lots of differently priced hotels to suit most pockets.

We stayed in Sorrento one March at Grand Hotel Vesuvio. Its pool wasn't open but it looked nice. Wonderful views. Had a restaurant and a bar. It was located high on a hill but had a private bus that went into Sorrento several times a day. Train to Pompei from Sorrento very easy. We were in our 50s when we were there and thought it looked like a great place to be at the end of a day of being a tourist.
There are also several hotels in Sorrento proper that looked very nice. Other posters can help or look online.
