Need 50th Celebration idea?
Hi All - travelling with DH and DD who is 9 first wk of Dec. Want a trip to anywhere for total of 10 days (including travel days) for all to remember, filled with memorable sightseeing, fun day trips, good foods (and wine/beer) and decorated for the holidays. Don't want it to be below 45/50 degrees either? Can also be hot! Please submit all of your ideas, I'm desparate! I have a budget, nothing over $4K US for hotel and transport! ANYTHING????
Thanks a bunch!

Does that budget include food and sightseeing costs (entry fees)?
If it must be Europe, consider Rome or Sicily, Spain, maybe Greece. For really helpful suggestions, you need to tell us more about what "memorable sightseeing" would be for you and your family.

Hi Jean : budget does not include food. Sights? Anything you think is memorable. Been to Greece and Rome 2x's.
Hi Joannnyc.....did that. Would love to hear from real people who experienced an amazing place instead.
Thank you.

What about Andalucia? It should be as warm as anyplace you will find in Europe at that time of the year. Seville, Cordoba and Granada would be a good trip with 8 days on the ground. Food and wine are excellent.

No where in Europe will be 'hot' in Dec. I would stick to cities so there are lots of things to do in case it rains.
Some ideas:
Madrid
Barcelona
Rome
Paris (will likely be cold)
Or embrace the cold and go somewhere like Germany for their Christmas markets: http://www.germany-christmas-market.org.uk/
Bruges and Strasbourg are also lovely during the holiday season and will be decorated for xmas - although they will likely be cold as well.

Since you've been to Rome and Greece (which would have been helpful to know), I'd skip Sicily.
Spain looks like your best option. Or, as jamikins suggests, forget what the temps will be and go where it will be the most Christmas-y.
