Nederlands in 7 hours?

Hi

I have a seven hour stop in Nederland, on my way to Boston. I am a student, have a tight budget but would love to get a feel for the country. Any Suggestions ?

This question comes up several times, but I always recommend a canal boat tour as you get to see alot..After that just walk around the main areas from Dam Square to Leidseplein..If time permits, visit a museum or Vondel Park..It all depends what you like? Coffeeshop perhaps??

Bringing your question back up "to the top" lest you nevr find it... and since it is your first time ever here - - how do I know that? Click on your own name - - a valuable tip that Fodors fails to tell you when they send you that initial e-mail confirming your registration.

Best wishes,

Rex

You will not get a feel for the country in 7 hours, but you can do a quick visit to Amsterdam. There are lots of posts on this forum about stopovers in Amsterdam, and what to do for a day; try the search option above.

Hi

Thanks for the boat trip suggestion. Its excellent and in budget. A cofee shop would be interesting, any suggestions? Nothing too expensive. Any specific meuseums that I could go to, and how to get there from central?

Any ideas where I could stow away my handbag and laptop safely (Perhaps at Shiphol? I am flying KLM).

Thanks again,
Manas
