My wife and I are headed to the islands in May - we're staying 3 nights each in Naxos and Santorini. We're looking for a few great places to eat - the food is one of the top reasons we're coming to Greece. So authentic cooking is the best - fresh of course! We've got no restrictions on cuisine or on price (within reason of course). Does anyone have suggestions? We'd love to hear about your favorites!

Be sure to go to Katina's Fish Taverna on Amoudi Wharf below Oia. If you don't have a rental car you can walk down the steps or take a taxi down the road. For dining while watching the sunset go to the Kastro Restaurant at the top of the steps leading down to Amoudi.

Our favorite Taverna in Naxos is Taverna to Kastro. It is situated just outside the wall of the Kastro and serves the best food at the best prices on the islanda It is very hard to find but it is worth it. If you are on Nxos three nights you will want to go there there twice.

Ditto what brotherleelove says. Eat BELOW the cliffs at Oia at sunset down by the wharf. So fresh that the fisherman are flinging their catch almost at your feet. Voila, a fabulous meal.
