Naples Day Tours

NAPLES,POMPEI, SORENTO, AMALFI COAST?

My husband and I are staying in Naples on 13 and 14 September this year. We have never travelled before and I am very nervous. Is there a decent day tour that goes to Pompei, Sorento and the Amalfi Coast all in one day?

Thanks

Hi P,

Calm down. Help is on the way.

These two limo services also provide day tours of the coast.

They have gotten good reviews here.

Limousine Service Sorrento (Renato Cuomo)

Francesco. www.francescomarrapese.com/

Enjoy your visit.

Hi Patricia - Why spend so much money on a limo service (€ 300+) when you can get to Pompeii and Sorrento for about €5 ?

Here’s the web site for the trains in Naples. Train Information: Schedules www.massalubrense.it/circum.htm

When going to Pompeii, make sure you get tickets to Pompeii Scavi not just “Pompeii.” Tickets are very inexpensive. From Pompeii Scavi, you can take the train to Sorrento; then back to Naples.

Not sure if you can fit the Amalfi Coast into your one day but Sorrento is a great place to visit.

Get an early start!

Hi P,

For a DIY visit using public transportation, I think that you can visit Pompei and Sorrento or Sorrento and the AC, but not all 3.

If you're staying in Naples I think you can do all three quite easily.

Plan to be at Pompeii at opening time - then onto Sorrento for early lunch.

That leaves you the whole afternoon for Positano and the Amalfi Coast. You could do part by bus (Sorrento-Positano) and the rest by ferry with a stop in Amalfi.

The return journey from Salerno to Naples only takes about 45 mins.

Hope this helps ...

Thanks for the follow-up. We have now booked in at a B&B in Sorrento so I think it will be a bit easier to do all three now. Thanks again.

Hi P, We used a great company also called Benvenuto Limos. They were great and the driver was excellent. He knew all the best Gelato stops along the way. You can reach them via website www.benvenutolimos.com or email direct at [email protected]

I just looked at Benvenuto's website. A tour of Pompeii and Sorrento costs 500 Euros. Looks like we will be on the train when we go in May.
