Hi, LizaMarie -
When you are on Capri, you might want to reverse the days you plan to visit the Blue Grotto and Anacapri - visiting the Blue Grotto depends on tide, etc. Better yet, ask Ettore at La Tosca as soon as you arrive - he is wonderfully helpful!
Enjoy!

thanks for the tip kja! I am definitely going to look into the blue grotto the first day after checking in that way if it's closed I can hopefully make it the next day... I would hate to miss it! I will definitely ask Ettore at La Tosca for help - he has been so helpful already!

We just got back - did a similar trip - without Rome.
We stayed at Aiano and loved it.
I would suggest that you do the Blue Grotto the day you do Anacapri. Anacapri is not that big. Do the chairlift to Monte Solaro, and definitely, see Villa San Michele, then do the Blue Grotto - @ 4pm, when most of the crowds have left and the light is best. Fodors newest travel guide has a great piece on how best to do this.
Then spend day 2 doing the Capri things - Garden of Augustus, Certosa, a "Giro" boat tour of the island (ask if they will drop you off at Blue Grotto if you didn't do it day one while in Anacapri), walk the Via Tragara for a wonderful quiet walk and spectacular view of the Fariglioni rocks.
We stayed in Positano for a week and did day trips to Amalfi, Ravello, Pompeii. I don't think you need 2 nights in Sorrento.
Did you decide to spend your time in Positano vs. Praiano? I think that's wise, as Praiano is small, and if you want to see Positano, you have to then travel there. If you are already there, that's one less trip.
Have a great time!
