my itinerary is done but where shall i go next?

I will be visiting Italy this winter. I have decided on Rome (4 days) and venice (3 days). After venice i have 4 days extra before goiung to my final destination London. Can i go to switzerland in these 4 days? If so, where do you sugguest? Another option would be going to another city in Italy. I have already been to milan (hated it) and como so where else is there? Would the dolomites area be ok for mid Jan?

Perhaps you can take a train from Venice to Florence?!

You could go see a psychiatrist because you must have some sort of brain damage if you have to ask people where you could go in Italy. Is this some kind of a joke? There are 1000's of town in Italy that are rich in history. Buy a map and pick any. You cant go wrong...

Why not spend 5-6 days each in Venice and Rome? Relax, take your time, get to know some various neighborhoods in each city.

Why rush around?

From Venice you can catch an overnight train (get a private sleeper cabin *I love them*) to Switzerland along Lac Luman (Montreux, Vevey, Lausanne, Geneva). Or also via overnight train to Paris. It's a really nice way to travel, and wouldn't cut into the few short (extra) 4 days you'd like to fill.
