I dug up this old thread.
I had a change of plans and I'm going to Turkey instad of France, as I'd been planning for several months. Turkey is actually more exciting, since I've never been there and have always wanted to go. But there have been a few little glitches, e.g., a knee injury two weeks ago which made me unable to walk for four days and has now necessitated frequent physical therapy visits. At the rate I'm going I'm pretty sure I'll be able to go on the trip as planned, but for a while there, it didn't seem likely, and it was hard to think much about Turkey. So now I want to get in the mood in a big hurry, read about Turkish history and places, learn a few words, etc. Music might help. any recommendations for music that will convey the culture of Turkey and help get me in the spirit?
To answer the original question, to get in the mood for trips to Sicily, I like to listen to a CD of Sicilian folk songs.
