Have been to Murren in July and knew what to expect, what about mid sept? How warm should we dress? Will it be too cold for hiking? Thanks for any thoughts.

M&uuml;rren in mid September should be fine. <BR>That is when I go because the summer hoards have decreased somewhat. The popular places still become crowded on weekends, however. <BR><BR>Temperature depends as always on cloud cover. If the weather is cloudy and/or rainy, it can be cool for me. <BR>I remember one day on the Gemmi Pass we got caught in a sleet storm. I had my Polar Fleece pullover and full rain suit with the hood up. Had I not kept moving, I would have been uncomfortable.<BR><BR>But that type of weather can happen in August as well.<BR><BR>What is cold? What temperature for you is cold? I think that is a factor someone else cannot appraise. A friend of mine from the upper peninsula of Michigan walks around in his shirt sleeves when I am shivering in a jacket.<BR><BR>If you take the Jungfrau excursion, of course it is cold up there because you rise to an elevation of more than 11,000 feet. The temperature can be down in the forties, or even the thirties Fahrenheit.<BR><BR>And snow up there is not unusual at any time during the summer.<BR><BR>The top of the Faulhorn or the M&auml;nnlichen can be windy as well, even on a clear day. <BR><BR><BR><BR><BR><BR><BR><BR><BR><BR><BR><BR><B R>
