Munich restaurants?

We will be in Munich for 4 days. Can anyone German restaurants that would allow us to try different regional cuisines of Germany?

Not that I can think of. I understand what you mean though but can't really think of any. I love the food of Bavaria. I had a very old friend that was from Bremen that taught me how to cook some German dishes before she passed. It is basically the same but with a different twist, sort of like southern cooking versus New England but all very good. also depends on what is available in that region.

I am afraid the Bavarians are so bigheaded that they have passed a law that prohibits restaurants with cuisine from other German regions. I have found no regional restaurant in München, apart from hundreds of Bavarian restaurants and a few with Austrian cuisine. And, of course, you can have international cuisine, Italian, Japanese etc.

If you would like to sample regional specialties you can try the high-end delis of Kafer and Dallmeyer. You will find many imported products available as well, but if you have a sharp eye, you should also be able to find specialties from various parts of Germany. (Personally, I think Kafer is better than Dallmeyer if you are in that neighborhood.)

Also, you might find regional specialties at the various food stands in the Viktualienmarkt.

Also, one of the best meals I had in Munich as at Cohen's, which has revived historic German Jewish cooking in the heart of Munich. It also serves many Jewish dishes from other parts of Europe and Israel
