Munich airport hotel help

Would you recommend staying in Freising or Erding for a morning flight? We will train to the hotel and take a shuttle to the airport.. Would like to be able to walk around town the night before. I'm crosseyed from reading reviews. Anyone have recent experience? Do you have any suggestions (maybe someplace I haven't thought of.) Would like not to spend more than 125 euro. Thank you! CJ

We have stayed in Freising twice before flying out of Munich. I really like this small town. We stayed at the Hotel zur Gred.

Zur Gred is 2-3 blocks from the train station. From there you can catch a dedicated public shuttle bus to the airport. The shuttle buses leave every 20 minutes and take about 15 minutes to the airport. The cost is about 3 euros per person.

Thanks Gary, That looks perfect. I have sent them an e-mail. Thanks, Lincasanova. I am a wuss - have never used Priceline. Anyway, thanks to both. Now, I'll wait for an answer. CJ

Hi CarolJean,

We liked the Park Hotel (Best Western) in Erding as our "last night" in Germany. Nice hotel just 2 blocks away from the train station. It's also an easy 5 minute walk into the old town of Erding. Charming old town. We walked around the town, checked out the old church and had dinner at a restaurant with outdoor seating in the pedestrian section of town. We thought it was a very nice way to end our trip.

Thanks pja. It looks very nice but I don't want to spend that much (unless I have to.)
