Moulin Rouge -overrated or not?

what are the good shows to see in Paris? Mouline rouge seems so touristy and pricey and well..."cliche". Are there other shows you've seen that are worthwhile. What is the best way to get tickets while there?

My pal at work just went to Moulin Rouge in Paris with his lovely wife. She was angered by the show and won't even talk about it now that she is home. For over half the play, according to my workmate, the chorus girls go bare-breasted on stage, their lovelies flopping around as it were. My pal didn't mind but his wife was insulted and thought my pal was disingenuous in picking out the play.

I believe the Moulin Rouge is contemplating a new show -featuring costumes on what NOT to where in Europe. All the lovely young ladies will come out in shorts, sneakers, then change to baseball caps, t-shirts. Of course the cahnge will take place on stage, so for a bit, all the lovelies' lovelies will be showing. For the grand finale, the young lovelies will don proper outfits - capri's and pareaus!!!!

Yes, very overrated, like much of Paris.

Are people really so ignorant as to what they will see at the Moulin Rouge. I would not spend that sort of money if I didn't know what the show entailed. Maybe they should go to Disneyland.

I liked Nicole Kidman and thought that she sang very well. Most likely would not watch it again though.

It depends on what you have been told it is "rated". On a scale of 1 (low) to 10 (high), if someone tells you it is a 2 or higher, then they are over-rating it.
Ohh. The sight of bare breasts is insulting? How puritanical can you get and still be functional?? Talk about an up-tight babe. Glad she is elsewhere. If that little bit turns her rear side over tin cup, there is a painting in Musee d'Orsay that really should freak her out, totally and permanently; probably drive her straight to a cab headed for CDG. (I almost typed titally, great slip. Except that isn't the featured anatomical section.)
And the Englische Garten in Munich during the summer would run her up a tree. Heterosexual sun bathing a la buff is the norm on hot days, of which there have been quite a few lately.
And a few beaches along the Riviera would send her dashing.

Reminds me of my aunt who would not let us use the term bull; we had to call him Mr. Cow. I forget the name of the movie, but it had a bull fight scene in it and we came home playing bullfight.
Nope, Mr. Cow Fight. Fighting was ok, bull was not.

I wish someone who is not freaked out by bare skin would comment on the show.
I hear it is quite interesting, and not because of the high level of leer material present on the stage.

MR, like HiLo's humor, is a bit overrated, if you ask me. If you didn't already suspect that Trixie, why would you be asking. Skip MR and go to a decent restaurant instead, and not in the Montmartre area, where the restaurants cater to tourists.
