mouin rouge
My wife has a big birthday later this year and she wants to spend it in Paris. I was thinking of taking her to the Moulin Rouge. Is the entertainment and the meal worth the price you pay, and are the drinks expensive ? I don't mind spending but would prefer value for money.

If you do decide on the Moulin Rouge, eat dinner elsewhere before you go and take in the late show. I've never eaten there, but the food reviews from others were awful.
You get 1/2 bottle of champagne each with the price of your ticket for the show. Extra drinks are pricy.

My husband and I went to dinner and a show at the Moulin Rouge two years ago. We did enjoy the entertainment, but the meal was less than memorable.
In retrospect, I would have used the money for the dinner and show at the Moulin Rouge for a nicer meal at another establishment. Unless you have your heart set on going, I would skip the Moulin Rouge. If you really want to go, do as Budman suggests and skip dinner.

Don't go. My husband and I go to Paris twice each year. Two years ago, we won an auction item -- dinner and show at Moulin Rouge. The food and wine is awful and the show is just not that good. There are just too many wonderful places to eat in Paris to spend time and money there!

Go to www.reservethebest.com and reserve something like the Jules Verne and enjoy the great food and the wonderful "show" from that vantage point.
Save the cabaret stuff for Vegas.
